Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe

Making ice cream is a delightful and rewarding process. Here's a basic recipe to make homemade ice cream:

Ingredients to make vanilla Ice cream:

  1. 2 cups heavy cream
  2. 1 cup whole milk
  3. 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  4. -1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  5. Pinch of salt
  6. Ice
  7. Rock salt (ice cream salt)

Instructions to make vanilla ice cream:

1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until the sugar is dissolved.

2. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker. Make sure the canister of the ice cream maker has been in the freezer for at least 24 hours before using.

3. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for your specific ice cream maker. Typically, this involves turning on the machine and letting it churn for about 20-30 minutes. During this time, the mixture will freeze and thicken into ice cream.

4. While the ice cream maker is running, prepare an ice bath. Fill a larger bowl with ice and sprinkle a layer of rock salt over it.

5. Once the ice cream reaches a soft-serve consistency in the machine, remove the canister from the ice cream maker. Wipe off any excess water from the outside of the canister.

6. Place the canister of ice cream into the ice bath, making sure the ice and salt mixture surrounds it. This helps to harden the ice cream further.

7. Let the ice cream sit in the ice bath for about 20-30 minutes, or until it reaches your desired consistency.

8. Remove the canister from the ice bath and place it in the freezer to firm up even more. Leave it in the freezer for at least 2-4 hours, or until it's fully set.

9. Once the ice cream has hardened, it's ready to be enjoyed! Serve it in bowls or cones and add your favorite toppings if desired.

Note: This is a basic vanilla ice cream recipe. You can customize it by adding mix-ins like chocolate chips, crushed cookies, fruits, or nuts during the last few minutes of churning.

How to serve Vanilla Ice cream

1. Scoop the ice cream into bowls: Use an ice cream scoop and scoop ball-shaped servings of ice cream into individual bowls.

2. Add toppings: Serve the ice cream on its own or add toppings such as hot fudge, caramel sauce, nuts, whipped cream, or sprinkles.

3. Serve with a spoon: Give each person a spoon and let them enjoy their dessert.

4. Optional: For an extra special touch, place a chocolate wafer or cookie on top of each serving of ice cream.

5. Serve immediately: Vanilla ice cream can melt quickly, so it's best to serve it immediately after scooping and adding toppings.

Remember to always follow the instructions and safety guidelines provided with your specific ice cream maker for the best results.
