Egg Biryani
Here is an easy recipe to make egg biryani:
Ingredients For Egg Biryani:
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 4 boiled eggs, sliced in half
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- 2 green chilies, chopped
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoons biryani masala
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 3 tablespoons oil
- Salt to taste
- Chopped cilantro and mint for garnish
- Fried onions for garnish
Instructions To Make Egg Biryani:
1. Rinse basmati rice two times until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes.
This step is important to remove any excess starch from the rice, resulting in fluffy and separate grains when cooked. Soaking the rice also helps to reduce the cooking time and ensures even cooking.
2. In a separate pan, heat oil and add sliced onions. Saute the onions until they turn golden brown.
3. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chilies. Stir for a minute.
4. Add chopped tomatoes, biryani masala, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the tomatoes have softened.
5. Meanwhile, in another pan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the soaked rice and some salt. Cook for 10-12 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
6. Mix the cooked rice with the egg slices and the chicken mixture. Add yogurt and mix gently.
7. Garnish with chopped cilantro, mint, and fried onions.
8. Serve hot with raita or curry.
