Chick fil a mac and cheese recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb elbow macaroni
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 4 oz white cheddar cheese, grated
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to the package directions, then drain and set aside.
2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
3. Add the flour to the butter and stir constantly for 3-5 minutes until the mixture turns golden brown and begins to smell nutty.
4. Add the whole milk to the mixture, a little at a time, whisking constantly until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
5. Allow the mixture to come to a gentle simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes.
6. Add both types of cheddar cheese to the saucepan and stir until the cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth.
7. Add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to the mixture and stir until well combined.
8. Add the cooked elbow macaroni to the cheese sauce, stirring to coat all the macaroni evenly.
9. Serve immediately and enjoy.
